March 16, 2008  Chapter Meeting Minutes
 


State & President’s Report:  +Steve called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.  There will be a State Board meeting on 4/22/08 to discuss organizing a State rally in Bevier, Missouri in June 2008.  The meeting will be in Columbia but don’t know details yet.  Will try to contact everyone when we get more information.     

Vice President’s Report:  + Jason thanked everyone for coming to bike run yesterday.  The weather and other obstacles kept us from having a good turn out.  Terry Snodgrass made a motion to have a re-run on March 29 (which happens to be leathered Heather’s 30th Birthday).  Jean Meyer 2nd the motion and motion passed. We will start at First & Last Chance, Bunk House in Weston; Logan’s Bar in Dearborn; The Vault in Easton and return to First & Last in St. Joseph.  Flier will be sent to all for distribution. A motion was made to reimburse Melvin for transportation if he can make the meeting in Columbia for State rally meeting. Motion passed.

Secretary’s Report:  +Wild Bill is going to be the membership coordinator. Sandy will send him the updated list and he will keep the most current list of members from now on.  Need to get membership numbers from Randy Campbell for our database.  Sandy will also get rules out to everyone on judging the bike show.  Scott Lamb is still not receiving e-mail’s, Sandy will check the list.

Treasurer’s Report:  + Sister Sam gave a financial report.

Old Business:  +We need some more t-shirt’s. Karri and Jean will check on prices to restock our current design in white, gray and black shirts.  Sister Sam is going to do some checking on getting an event t-shirt for the Hotter Than Hell Bike Show.Send Sandy will send Karri artwork to save costs on redesign by another supplier.

New Business:  + Tuck’s is willing to let us use their lower parking lot for the 3rd Annual Hotter Than Hell Bike show which is scheduled for July 26, 2008. Bill Mathias made a motion to purchase another canopy for this event with his lovely wife, Karrie to 2nd the motion. Motion passed. Need to get sponsor’s for bike show. Sponsor’s application will be sent to everyone with the pre-flier of the event.  Karri makes motion to have sponsorship levels, $25 shirt/flier, $50, shirt/flier/trophy.  The first 10 sponsorships will be on trophies as there will not be enough room to advertise more.  Jean Meyer 2nds the motion and the motion passed.  The group decides to have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category due to the number of bikes we had last year. Ten classes and people’s choice will be the categories.  Tuck’s will have a 30-year birthday party April 25-27, 2008. They have invited us to set up a booth for this event.  We need volunteers to sit at booth. Bill makes a motion to set up booth. Karri 2nd.  Please let Steve or Jason know if you can volunteer this weekend.

Upcoming Events:  +Lunch run will be held on April 19th.  We will meet at VFW North 11 a.m. and leave at noon.  We will be traveling to KT’s Bar & Grille in Parnell, Missouri. Kansas District 11 is gearing up for the 15th Annual Mothers Day Bike Show on May 11 in Atchison, KS at Keimig Body Shop.  Kansas District 11 also has scheduled their 8th Annual Motorcycle Field Events on June 20 & 21, 2008. Motion to sponsor this event made by Jean Meyer and Bill Mathias 2nds with motion passing. A $50 donation will be made to each event. May 25th is the MoKan Poker run. We will start at VFW South at 11 a.m. It will be $5 hand and leave at noon going to VFW in Wathena; Quinlan’s in Atchison; Ten Penny in Leavenworth; Tanner’s at Platte City then end at Southgate in St. Joseph.  Rick made motion to accept locations and Bill 2nd, motion passed.   Bike show will be on 7/26/08.  The group discussed the possibility of having a canoe trip in August.
